Social Dancing

Social dance is an alternate classification for many existing dance styles or danceforms, where the emphasis is on socializing rather than perfecting specific dance techniques.

Many partner dances are referred to as social dances. In fact, when people talk about social dancing, ballroom or other partner dances are often what they have in mind. However, other styles of dance are also included in this category.

Social Dancing

Social dances can be for soloists, partners or large groups of people. Basically, any style of dance can be a social dance if the primary focus for dancing is socializing. So, the following styles of dance are only a few of the social dances you may encounter:
